My obsession with archery started in January 2013. I was forced to take time off work (because I had forgetten to use up all my annual leave) and found myself a bit bored after the Chrstmas and New Year festivities. Everyone else was back at work and I was stuck with nothing to do. A quick search on google gave me the idea of archery. Well that sounded like fun so I decided to see what it was all about.
My other hobby is airsoft. For those who don't know, airsoft is similar to *ahem* paintball but with 1:1 replicas and a lot more ... class. The main problems that I found with airsoft was that there seemed to be a stigma of possessing replica firearms and that its an expensive hobby. So archery sounded like a good alternative. Further googling led me to 2020 Archery.

It was the last point that brought them to my attention. Many other clubs do not continue providing you with equipment after the beginners course. Not sure if I really wanted to continue with archery I didn't want to commit to purchasing expensive equipment. And their online booking system is effective that you can turn up to a sessions and not worry about not having a target face to shoot. If you can look past the premium shooting fees you will discover that 2020 offers a great deal to beginners in the sport.
I completed my beginners course in February 2013, bought my first bow in May 2013 and have pretty much shot every session that they offer. I routinely travel in and out of London to attend sessions when there is a club about 10mins from my house. The club members are a friendly bunch and the instructors know their stuff.
